The Baker's Nursery Display will occur the same weekend and will be from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM both days.  Setup for the Display will begin at 9:00 AM.  We need to have everyone bring something to display and participate in the event.  This is the beginning of our education to the public of the Art of Bonsai.  Club Members are also able to provide continuing demonstrations and styling of nursery stock into bonsai material.  The nursery allows us to style the material and then pot it up for them to sell in the future.  We need Club Members to display and work the show - it's a great way to enjoy our interest and share it with others.  The more people we have work and help out - the less it is for others and more enjoyable for everyone.  It is the chance for a Weekend Bonsai retreat without the airfare and hotel room.  Please contact Ken Jones (623-972-3282 - kenpjones@earthlink.net) and Jim Jefferies (480-990-3441 - farwest@gilanet.net) for details and to sign-up for display and working the event.

SAT    PBS: CHANGED DATE  Members of the Phoenix Bonsai Society interested in purchasing items from the collection of past PBS Member, Larry Mueller, will caravan to Mr. Mueller's home in Sun Lakes to purchase Bonsai items he is selling from his collection.  He has about 40 - 45 Bonsai trees, which are very nice specimens and he has around 75 Bonsai pots and some other related items that he wants to reduce from his collection.  This will be a great opportunity to pick up some very nice Bonsai Trees and Pots.  We can carpool down and caravan to make this a Saturday Outing Road Trip with the PBS (sort of like a Dig and Nursery Crawl combined - without the sweat and the trees are already potted).  Departure time will be between 10 am and 10:30 am.  We will announce more on this as the date approaches.
10 SUN    PBS: Memorial Gathering celebrating the life of Bud Jacobson.  It will be at 5:30 PM at the Phoenix Art Museum.  All of the PBS is invited to attend.
10 SUN  TBS:  Special workshop at the home of Frank Venturella to work on trees, follow-up on Propagation methods and practices.  Call (520) 790-3847.

TUE    PBS: Spring Junk Sale.  All things bonsai related are welcome and will be up for the sale.  Donate your old pots that you no longer want; bring in those bonsai books and magazines you no longer want; have a tree or two that you just can't do what you want to with it - bring it in and give it an new owner and chance for being something (there are a number of success stories where "one person's junk was another person's treasure").  I can personally attest to this last item.  If you want to reduce your inventory in anything with pots, trees, tools, books, magazines, stands, etc. - do not miss this fun event.
